What Pupzy knows about you

The short version: almost everything stays on your phone. We don't sell data. You can wipe it any time.

Effective May 18, 2026

1. What we collect

Pupzy collects only the information you give us to make the app useful — your dog's name, age, size, primary challenge, time commitment, optional profile photo, and the things you log inside the app (lesson completions, quick wins, care events, reminders, and the questions you send through the Pupzy Coach chat).

We do not ask for or collect contact information, location, ad identifiers, or content from outside the app.

2. Where it lives

Everything listed above is stored locally on your device. It is not uploaded to a Pupzy server, because there isn't one in this version of the app.

On iOS, this data sits inside Pupzy's app sandbox and is protected by your device's built-in encryption (Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode). If you turn device encryption off, or your device is unlocked when someone else has physical access to it, that protection does not apply. We do not add an extra password on top of your device protection.

3. How the Pupzy Coach generates replies

Right now, Coach replies in this version of the app are pre-written by our team. Nothing you type leaves your phone.

In a future update, the Coach will be able to generate replies live by sending your question to a third-party language-model provider (for example, OpenAI). When that happens:

  • Only the text of your question and a short context (your dog's name, age, size, and primary challenge) is sent — never your email, identifiers, photos, or care logs.
  • We do not use your questions or replies to train any model.
  • The provider may temporarily process and log the request to generate the reply, governed by their own privacy policy. We do not store the conversation on our servers.
  • Coach replies are auto-generated and may be inaccurate — they're general guidance, not veterinary advice.

We will update this page and clearly flag the change inside the app before we flip that on.

4. What we don't do

  • Sell or rent your data to anyone.
  • Track you across other apps or websites.
  • Show third-party ads.
  • Collect data from children under 13 (Pupzy isn't directed at children).

5. Permissions we ask for

  • Photos — only to let you pick a profile photo for your dog. We never browse your library.
  • Notifications — only to send the daily training nudge and care reminders you set up.

6. Subscriptions

Pupzy Pro is sold as an in-app subscription through Apple. Apple handles the payment and stores the receipt — Pupzy never sees your card details. Cancel or manage billing any time in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

We use RevenueCat (revenuecat.com) as a subscription management service. RevenueCat receives a randomly-generated anonymous device ID, your purchase events from Apple, your device platform (iOS), and your country/locale so it can present the right paywall. RevenueCat does not receive your dog's name, photo, care logs, messages to the Coach, or any other content from the app. See revenuecat.com/privacy for their policy.

7. Your controls

  • Reset progress — clears XP, levels, streaks, and badges while keeping your dog profile.
  • Delete account & data — wipes everything on this device, including your dog profile and all logs.
  • Notifications — turn each reminder on or off in the Schedule and Settings tabs, or globally in iOS Settings.

8. Children

Pupzy is built for adults caring for dogs. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app, email us and we'll delete anything they entered.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change anything material — especially if we add anything that leaves your device — we'll surface the new policy in the app and update the effective date above.

10. Contact

Questions or requests? Reach us through our contact form. We read every message.
